Network Engineer
Host.net, the leading Internet Service and Colocation Provider in South Florida located in Boca Raton seeks a Network Engineer capable of maintenance and improvement of the core Cisco network and deployment and management of VMware solutions. The position is for a highly motivated, team player that will be responsible for implementing network projects for businesses and providing support for customer networks on-site or via phone and e-mail, troubleshooting network/system problems and finding solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist customers in resolving networking issues
- Ability to work independently without supervision
- Ability to organize, design and implement networks from concept to application.
- Network documentation
- Maintenance of Corporate Network
- Ensure 99.99% uptime of Core Cisco Network
- Manage OSPF and BGP configurations on switches and Routers
- Configuring VLANS
- Continuously monitor network bandwidth for anomalous traffic behavior
- Testing of new and existing network devices to improve network performance and stability
- Support NOC with networking issues
- Implementing all type of access lists on Cisco routers
- Project management
- Server network configuration and troubleshooting
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Knowledge of implementing and configuring Routers and Switches
- In-depth knowledge and experience in Routing and Switching Networks (TCP-IP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP4, and VLAN’s )
- Experience with WAN technologies such as Metro Ethernet & MPLS
- Knowledge of Voice Over IP
- Must be a quick thinker and have the ability to work under pressure in creating access lists and re-routing traffic
- Preoven VMware experience
- Strong Analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- VMware ESX and WMware Infrastructure a Plus
- Team player
Experience
- 3 years demonstrated experience of managing and designing networks
- CCNP or equivalent experience
- VMware Certified Professional a plus
