General Summary: The Assistant Manager demonstrates leadership for Short Stay Surgery, PACU and the IV Infusion departments by providing excellent patient care and mentoring of staff. The Assistant Manager creates a climate of trust and empowerment within the team. coaches the team by identifying strengths and learning needs, providing encouragement, motivation and confidence building. They provide leadership through collaboration with the Nurse Manager and other hospital professionals. The role of the Assistant Manager also focuses on quality and safety in patient care and staff performance, including participation in the evaluation process. The Assistant Manager collaborates with the Surgery Services Manager on a regular basis regarding activities on the assigned shift or team and with the Clinical Educator regarding staff development and competencies.
Required: Current Oregon RN license and CPR Certification.
Preferred: BSN. Minimum of 3 years staff nurse experience required with at least 1 yr charge nurse, supervisor or management experience.
