Job Title: Special Education Teacher

Job Description:

The special education teacher will instruct small classes of adolescents in a private residential school setting. Class size is four to seven students with the aide of a teaching assistant and a Behavioral Specialist between two teachers. The teacher will provide instruction in English Language Arts and History, or Math and Science. The education program is year round. Teachers receive vacation during school breaks, as well as an extended summer vacation.

The qualified applicant will be a member of an interdisciplinary team providing integrated services to students. The program offers the teachers the opportunity to make a difference in the life of disadvantaged youth in a structured supportive setting based on formulating positive and lasting relationships.

Qualifications:

Qualifications include Massachusetts certification in Special Education, or Massachusetts teacher certification and a willingness to become Special Education certified.
