Banner Churchill Community Hospital

is currently looking for a Per Diem Medical Technologist II.

BCCH has the most diverse array of medical services in rural northern Nevada and employees more than 300 staff. We provide acute and emergency care, including an ambulance service. We're located in Fallon, Nevada, an hour from Reno and only 90 minutes from beautiful Lake Tahoe. Fallon is known as the "Oasis of Nevada". Our quiet community offers rustic, rural charm, along with a recreational wonderland of outdoor sports, including boating, fishing, hiking, biking, skiing in Tahoe, hunting, horseback riding and off -roading.

The hourly rate for this position is $23.86 - $35.79.

Independently performs and evaluates various laboratory tests on patient specimens providing data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease utilizing established methods and procedures. Technical services include chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, serology, blood bank, coagulation, therapeutic drug monitoring, phlebotomy, and microbiology. Frequent contact is made with physicians, nurses, patients, other hospital personnel, laboratory staff, and hospital visitors.

Education/Experience: minimum of 3 years experience in acute care or hospital laboratory.

Technical Skills: Ability to pay attention to detail, and the ability and willingness to update medical technology skills. Technical and analytical knowledge and ability to perform and evaluate laboratory testing in the areas of chemistry, hematology, blood bank, urinalysis, serology, coagulation, and therapeutic drug monitoring. Basic phlebotomy skills are also necessary.

Other qualifications/certificate/license: Certified by HEW, ASCP, NCA, and obtain Licensure by State of Nevada as Clinical Laboratory Technologist. General Supervisor Licensure by State of Nevada (if 3 years experience or more). Microbiology experience.
