Vice President/Business Unit Manager The Vice President/Business Unit Manager has the responsibility for providing direction to all activities related to our company’s products, including the following: • Product marketing & development • After-sales & technical support • Systems, development, & design engineering • Development of new businesses • Guarantee the efficient delivery of the products to our customers • Manage inventory & cost reduction initiatives
He or she will also report to our Senior VP. These reports will include: technical support, systems/development engineering, Dotted Line Reports (Human Resources, Sales, Operations, & Finance), and marketing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Serve as both the senior leader & role model for the facility & be the primary on-site contact facility-related or employee issues. • Manage & develop a business plan that includes the goals that will increase market share, bookings, & annual growth. Success can be measured by both the bottom line (EBITA) & the top line (gross margin, revenue & in bookings). • Direct & develop the strategy of the product within the MBE market & adjacent markets (ex: Concentrator Solar Cells & Organic LED). • Recognize and take advantage of opportunities within business development that will positively impact the business unit • Be a partner in our sales leadership, working to exceed & achieve the business plans for revenue, profit, & bookings.
Position Requirements:
Our perfect candidate will be a self-motivated, well-trained executive that has the ability to properly manage a comparable business. The following are some specific required skills: • Skilled in business unit management with background experience in the discipline of capital equipment functionality (ex: engineering, product management, marketing). • Solid analytic skills, coupled with a strong understanding of concepts businesses utilize to drive the purchasing decisions in government labs, universities, & commercial companies. He or she must also have the knowledge necessary to handle matters dealing with the economics of capital equipment supply chain & understand how to properly negotiate contracts in favorable economic terms. • Financial expertise that may be applied to the development of the business, operations, and product marketing.
