Located in Carmichael, California, Mercy San Juan serves the people of North Sacramento County and South Placer County with an array of programs to meet nearly every healthcare need. Founded in 1967, we are looking toward the future. A major expansion is underway that will bring a new six-story wing (expected to open by the end of 2009) and 110 much-needed hospital beds to the community. POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Under the general supervision of the coding supervisor, performs coding and abstracting of inpatient records and all types of outpatient records using ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 classification systems.
Three years of relevant coding and abstracting experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the following knowledge and abilities. Prior coding classes are required. Medical terminology and anatomy and physiology are required. A CCS, CCS-P, RHIT or RHIA is preferred. Upon interview selection, applicant will be tested for knowledge level.
