SCHEDULE: Full-time regular, 40 hours per week, Day shift, Monday through Friday: 8:00-4:30.
Position Summary: Develops, implements and directs media and broadcast productions and products. Manages multiple projects and/or clients simultaneously.
This is the second job in a three level Producer ladder. At this level, the producer is responsible for projects that are moderate in scope and complexity. Producer will work with some creative or project supervision, exercising judgment within defined procedures and objectives.
Education/License/Certification: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in communications, broadcasting or film. Continuing education to keep up with current trends in media production.
Qualifications: Minimum 2-3 years producing experience with increasing complexity of productions. Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Strong critical thinking and analysis skills. Ability to communicate media technology information and limitations to non-technical personnel. Thorough demonstrated knowledge of media production best practices, technologies and processes. Familiarity with editing systems and post-production facilities. Significant knowledge of union regulations, copyright laws, Actor’s Guild requirements, insurance regulations and others.
Preferred Qualifications: Responsible for oversight of video conference operations at Santa Clara Medical Center and respective satellites. Understands and utilizes standard media production technologies and methods. Leads or contributes to production planning, understanding clients needs and expectations. Works with internal departments, coordinating associated deliverables and functions. Trains administration staff on video equipment. Troubleshoots problems with video equipment with regional offices. Schedules all video conferences for medical center. In charge of distribution of AV equipment on daily basis to internal clients. Acts as liaison to outside organizations and professional consultants. Consults with clients, offering a range of creative approaches, options and budgets in order to meet the clients communication objectives. May edit production components into finished media program or product
Duties: Consults with clients, offering a range of creative approaches, options and budgets in order to meet the clients communication objectives. Leads or contributes to production planning, understanding client needs and expectations. Supports or leads development of direction and strategy, defining efficient, cost-effective solutions that meet client business needs and functional requirements. Understands and utilizes standard media production technologies and methods. Ensures that production standards are followed. Works with internal departments, coordinating associated deliverables and functions. Acts as liaison to outside organizations and professional consultants. Oversees work of freelance producers, writers, directors, editors or technical crew. Screens and selects actors and video production facilities. Develops work effort estimates and production schedules for productions. May be responsible for developing production estimates, monitoring budgets or final recharges. Ensures that projects meet deadlines by adhering to production schedules, identifying potential delays and reporting to the client and/or supervisor. May be responsible for leading project timeline, driving project and tasks and managing associated resources. Manages all aspects of production and production planning including script development, program treatments, storyboards and rehearsal sessions. May write or edit scripts. Oversees post-production sessions at broadcast level facilities. May direct programs or supervise director and crew during production. May edit production components into finished media program or product. Ensures that productions attract attention, hold audience interest, communicate effectively and present a professional, quality image of Kaiser Permanente. Knows and implements corporate identity standards. May or may not directly manage clients, budgets or timelines.
