CHIEF SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Pacoima , CA 90331




The position is responsible for managing and coordinating staff responsible for all programming activities. Responsible for software product delivery consistent with good business practices which include but not limited to project management, scope, configuration, testing, deployment and support.


Leadership and Project Skills:

  • Has staff supervisory experience and a proven record of staff development
  • Develop staff by training, coaching, and providing the knowledge and tools necessary to accomplish goals and assignments
  • Provide technical engineering support for projects in development or construction.
  • Ensure project engineering activities comply with requirements.
  • Support overall construction budget and schedule
  • Prepare and present internal reports and updates required by senior management and project management
  • Creates project schedules, cost estimates, achieve the goals, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communicator with strong writing and oral presentation skills


Technical Skills:

  • Cradle-to-grave experience including requirements, software development, tracking, testing and validation
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong background in embedded systems programming, with emphasis on real-time programming.
  • Fluent in C and C++
  • Test plan creation, execution, and reporting experience
  • Must be well versed in the following development environments:
    • Windows XP and ME Operating Systems, with Strong MFC and Win32 background
    • Visual Studio 6.0 Integrated Development Environment
    • Visual Studio .net and C#
    • Visual Source Safe or other version control software
  • Object Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts
  • Knowledge of Standard Template Library (STL) and Extensible Markup Language (XML)
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP protocol, USB device drivers, and other serial protocols.
  • Ability to work with the basic electronic test equipment such as scopes, meters, logic analyzers
  • Experience with defect tracking software.
  • Knowledge of programming of small microcontrollers (8051) and large microcontrollers (ARM9)
  • Familiar with field programmable gate array’s (FPGA).
  • Knowledgeable in the use of installation software packages, such as Wise or Install Shield.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Assigned Technical Discipline, M.S. preferred
  • At least 8 years experience in commercial product development, with a minimum of 3 years developing real-time embedded code.
