| Job Description SALES SPECIALIST, MID-WESTERN REGION-0900216 Description This position, located in the midwest states region, will manage the business relationships between Timken Aerospace and assigned customer to meet top and bottom line growth targets in both the aerospace OE and aftermarket MRO businesses.
- Collaborate with OE and aftermarket sales and program/product managers to refine and focus the company's product and service offering with the objective of attracting and retaining high value customers and developing strategic indispensable relationships that lead to long term, high value sales growth.
- Provide strong "hands-on" leadership in driving the company to superior levels of sales and market share growth that result in increased revenues and EBIT in accordance with the short and long term goals of the Industrial division.
- Establish a market driven approach in the development of new products and services that exceed customer needs and expectations.
- Develop strong relationships across the aerospace business entities, including regular travel to meet with domestic and international customers and prospects, and other activities, which facilitate face-to-face interaction.
- Establish and foster an open environment which stimulates communication, creativity, discipline and engenders a team spirit in solving problems and optimizing solutions.
2. Perform market research and understand key market drivers.
- Lead the market research and analysis effort for the OE and MRO markets, including communication of global market trends, identification of growth opportunities, and development of economic risk analysis models for market segments and customers.
- Develop and maintain a global market segmentation model and market share data.
- Develop a strong understanding of the total aerospace market, constantly refining and refocusing our tactics (as needed) in accordance with current and future market trends.
3. Support a differentiation strategy, including internal and external MarCom, promotional and sales support programs.
- Help develop and actively implement a global marketing strategy that clearly communicates the value offering of the total aerospace business (OE and aftermarket).
- Develop and implement an internal marketing program that clearly communicates the strategic vision and tactical focus of the total aerospace business.
- Establish proactive collaboration and communication with the global sales team.
- Identify target products and focus customers, and take the lead on growth initiatives.
- Optimize global pricing and positioning strategy through value selling, leveraging competitive alternatives available in the marketplace.
- Develop and implement business plans in accordance with the Industrial Division strategy.
4. Create and lead cross-functional teams to ensure the strategy and market plans are implemented.
- Lead the identification and development of strategic alliances and acquisitions which support the strategy and market plans.
- Lead new product, service and program development by identifying new opportunities and ensuring that all new product development projects are prioritized and executed.
Qualifications Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Business or Engineering with 10 years experience.
- Minimum 2 years experience demonstrated leadership, data analysis, creative and strategic thinking
- Minimum 7 years experience working in direct sales, aerospace preferred
- Extensive background in the aerospace industry or transportation equivalent regulatory industry
- Proficient skills with market research and data analysis
Desired:
- Master's degree, Marketing or Business with a minimum of 5 years experience
- Direct supervisory experience
- Experience with new product promotion and sales
- Global pricing experience highly desired
- Experience with "cradle to grave" contract; strategy development, direct negotiations, resolution of terms and conditions, and final closure and signature of term contracts is highly desirable
