Plant Engineering Manager

Liquid Container L.P. is a leading manufacturer of custom and stock plastic containers and we have an opportunity for a Plant Engineering Manager in our Hammond, LA facility. The Plant Engineer is responsible for the operation and upgrade of the physical systems within the facility including automation systems, machine safeties and equipment integration in a manufacturing environment. The candidate will be expected to work on improving efficiencies and speed of production equipment while also ensuring the safety of the equipment and the employees that work on or around the equipment.

Essential Duties Include:

• Participate in job safety training and follow all rules and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

• Enforce and comply with all safety and GMP policies.

• Supervise Maintenance Department and provide technical support in repair of equipment as well as train and develop personnel.

• Spearhead the development and implementation of programs and projects to improve production processes and optimize operational efficiency and product quality.

• Coordinate all new equipment installation or line upgrades with the assistance of Corporate Engineering.

• Oversee projects to minimize operating costs.

• Develop and implement programs to increase operational safety and reliability of the production process and equipment.

• Manage relationships with outside contractors, including negotiation of contracts, definition of scope of work, and supervising their activities on site.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Include:

• BS in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering field or equivalent degree.

• A minimum of five years experience in a Plant/Maintenance Engineering role in a process manufacturing environment.

• Proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook).

• Skill in design and upgrade of machinery and integration of machines on production lines.

• Ability to conduct technical training to various skill levels of employees.

• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical background.

• Possess strong supervisory skills in a leadership role.
