Provident Credit Union, a well established financial institution since 1950 is currently seeking a FT Mortgage Consultant I in the Real Estate Department. Primary functions include but are not limited to: Originates residential real estate loans through selling of Credit Union's loan products and services to meet the needs of the member base. Mortgage Consultant will participate in related business development activities by establishing and maintaining referral relationships with members, realtors, and various SEG groups. Mortgage Consultant will make sales calls to realtors, potential or existing members and other relevant groups with the objective of originating real estate loans for the Credit Union. Utilizes proactive telemarketing methods to build loan production. Mortgage Consultants supports a strategic alliance that leverages the personal member relationship of the branch with processing support by specialized mortgage agents.
Specific Job Duties - Responsible for coordination and management of communication regarding the loan process, the overall member interaction and interface with all parties involved on each individual loan that is originated from application to closing, including but not limited to, counseling and pre-qualifying potential home buyers; taking complete and accurate applications; obtaining all necessary support documents along with the appropriate fee and lock-in information; overseeing the loan process by monitoring loan status and ensuring conformity with terms; assisting in collecting additional documents and promptly communicating loan status to all interested parties, and obtaining loan documentation after closing, as directed by management. - Submits completed loan applications with 24 hours of receipt from prospect. - Solicits loan applications, manages loans through processing and closing to ensure top service to members. Mortgage Consultant preprocesses by collecting as much credit documentation as possible to reduce approval times. - Builds a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship within the real estate community in the Credit Union's primary markets. Develops and implements a weekly sales plan with meaningful call objectives to support growth in loan production. Generates and maintains independent leads for new and future business. - Keeps informed of trends and developments in real estate market and the competitive environment, as well as the changing rules and regulations pertaining to mortgages. - Maintain a professional image and standards consistent with Credit Union policies and procedures. - Establishes necessary relationships with SEGs to generate mortgage loan originations for corporate relocation members. - Responds to District Branch offices product questions promptly. Works with Branches to generate referral leads, and assist with the training and coaching of staff. Meet with members at branches when feasible. Provide closing status to Branches. Enters branch applications and pre-approvals into LOS.
