Ports America is proud to be the largest terminal operator, stevedore and vehicle processor in the Americas - managing cargo handling at 50 ports and 97 terminals in the United States and Mexico. With a highly skilled and trained labor force, Ports America has the experience and expertise to manage all types of cargo handling.

Responsible for the efficient and effective development of vessel plans (according to customer specifications) and ensure effective communication with customers, superintendents, and terminal labor.

Essential Duties:
1. Develops and maintains positive customer relations by understanding customer needs and contract terms and conditions, by developing and implementing plans to meet those needs, and by demonstrating customer service principles.
2. Work effectively in a team environment within the department and other Ports America staff.

3. Effectively communicate with customers, terminal staff, and within the department.

4. Keeps Manager informed of current issues within the planning area on a regular basis.

5. Works closely with terminal staff, vessel operators and their agents in the development of accurate and efficient plans to load / unload vessels or operate terminals.

6. Ensures that all Ports America policies, procedures and controls are followed and that all reports are completed accurately, submitted on time and to appropriate Ports America staff, customers and other designated personnel.

7. Ensures that accurate and timely vessel plans are developed in accordance with customer specifications and distributed to appropriate operating staff.

8. Ensures that all administrative vessel / yard reconciliation and billing reports are completed accurately and submitted on a timely basis to customers and Financial Services Department.

9. Performs other tasks and projects as assigned.

Requirements:
1. BA / BS degree or equivalent.

2. Experience with computerized operating systems

Physical Working Conditions
1. Requires ability to accurately read computer screen.

2. Requires ability to communicate effectively with all employee and labor levels.

3. Requires the ability to plan and organize projects in fast paced environment

4. Requires ability to respond quickly in a fast paced environment, and be available to work varied hours, shifts and days.
