The Protein Purification Engineer will have the opportunity to apply enthusiasm for science and engineering as a member of a multidisciplinary team supporting the validation and startup of a vaccine manufacturing facility. Duties will include providing technical support to one or more operations of a protein purification process. Assignments may include development and review of process specific operating procedures or writing and executing process validation procedures. In addition, investigations to understand root cause and proper corrective action for process issues may be required. The successful candidate must have demonstrated problem solving skills and a hands-on approach to problem solving, with a bias toward going to see problems for oneself in the field. Excellent organizational, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills are needed. The successful candidate should be able to examine an issue from diverse perspectives (safety, compliance, automation, equipment, process, people) in order to best understand and resolve it. It is also a strong plus to have an enthusiasm for continuously learning within a team environment. Qualifications Required:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or Science Discipline
- 2 years experience in a GMP regulated environment with some or all of that time spent in an Engineering role in support of a process that includes protein purification (will consider a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, BioChemical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering in lieu of experience)
Preferred:
- Experience with a facility start up
- Experience with validation qualifications for a start up facility
- Engineering support experience with a vaccine product
