Senior Contracting Negotiator: AvMed Health Plans

Two positions are available. One is in Miami, one is statewide.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for developing and retaining a complete network of Primary Care Physicians and Specialists to support customer and client needs covering the diverse geographies of South Florida , as assigned; and for developing and executing contracting strategies for complex physician groups in the assigned geographies. These networks must demonstrate high quality, cost effective delivery of medical services, while maintaining high member satisfaction. This position will work in conjunction with the Physician Services Liaison to insure there is proactive, ongoing outreach to the providers for which this position is responsible to support a high level of provider satisfaction and the attainment of unit cost targets and service goals. This position will support the Director and Manager in evaluating the composition, performance, and cost effectiveness of the providers for which this position is responsible; and make timely and well thought-out recommendations to enhance the competitiveness of AvMed’s South Florida Physician Network.

Education/Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required (in related field); Master’s degree in Business or Healthcare preferred. Five years experience in health plan, physician contract negotiations; and contracting and service with highly complex providers and provider systems. Experience working in direct contact with providers, physicians, hospitals and ancillary providers in highly competitive and diverse healthcare markets. Technical Skills, is well versed in all contracting methodologies, legal ramifications, applications, claims processing, coding, and industry trends. Planning and organization, effective in time management, and the timely completion of projects and initiatives.
