Job Summary
The Director, Brand Marketing is responsible for directing the development of high-impact, cost-effective and creative advertising, merchandising and promotion programs that are consistent with brand equity and deliver corporate sales objectives. The position will be responsible for several product or marketing initiatives.
The position will be responsible for developing comprehensive project plans for the test and implementation of new products and menu concepts. Plans will include measures of success, schedules, stakeholder communication, and training. The position will design and implement the necessary consumer research to support the efforts. The position will have the primary responsibility for managing the implementation of the plan, as well. Implementation includes evaluation of tests, rapid development and inclusion of enhancements (creative, media, LSM, operations, food science, supply chain), problem solving with operators, and influencing superior execution of the products throughout the system. The position will need to anticipate and address various organization and operational barriers to implementation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide input to advertising agency, graphic designer and vendors to develop effective advertising, merchandising and promotion programs, including TV spots, radio, merchandising, packaging, e-mail marketing and print in support of product launches and promotion. Manage tests and implementation of new products and concepts (managing internal and external resources, project budgets and timelines). 45%
Analyze sales data and consumer research, store execution, field feedback and competitive strategies and tactics, as a basis for modifying marketing plans to insure volume targets are achieved. 40%
Develop training materials and system wide procedures for each product launch or promotion. 15%
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manage support vendors. Direct activities of internal support staff.
Job Requirements
Education/Experience: Four-year degree (in marketing, advertising or related field); 10 – 15 years experience in developing effective marketing programs(restaurant industry preferred.) Familiarity with franchise system or dealer groups are preferred.
Skills: Project Management, multi-task management in a fast-paced environment, creativity and idea origination, leadership and communication skills.
Knowledge: Understanding of consumer research strategies, collection and analysis. Knowledge of media used to drive retail or restaurant results. Understanding of local store marketing techniques. Ability to analyze data from multiple sources to develop sound marketing directions.
Physical: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following: Perform some repetitive motion activities and sit at and operate a computer for up to 8 hours per day
Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and travel 10 – 20% of the time.
Other Preferred Job Qualifications
Experience in restaurant and/or retail industries.
