CAD Engineer

Job Description:

This junior-level CAD engineer position supports circuit design EDA tools and process design kits (PDKs) for Cadence/Agilent analog/RF and mixed-signal flows. As an individual contributor, you will be expected to possess necessary programming skills and circuit design knowledge to allow you to QA, support, develop and enhance the EDA tools and the associated PDKs.

Responsibilities:

· Establish and maintain CAD policies, processes and flows for an analog/RF/mixed-signal IC design environment and contribute to the development of best practices

· Provide day-to-day technical support for circuit design EDA tools and PDKs for Cadence/Agilent analog/RF and mixed-signal flows

· Develop and QA PDK, and manage PDK release process

· Evaluate and deploy circuit design EDA tools as required

· Develop and support tools/utilities that improve circuit designer’s productivity

· Provide written documentation and training material for existing design environment and new enhancement updates

· Work closely with the design teams to debug problems and resolve issues and if needed liaise with the tool vendor to report and resolve the issues in a professional and prompt manner

· Work closely wit the IT team to achieve CAD’s and business objectives

Qualifications:

· B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering

· 0-2 years of relevant experience

· Hands on experience with scripting and software development (shell scripts, Tcl/Tk, Perl, SKILL and or C++)

· Familiarity with analog/RF/mixed-signal circuit simulation tools (Cadence/Agilent) is a plus

· Familiarity with analog/RF/mixed-signal IC product developing process is a plus

· Good experience with Linux/UNIX operating systems

· Familiarity with CAD system administration tasks is a plus

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and English proficiency are a must

· Familiarity with development process automation tools, change and configuration management systems, issue tracking, and revision control systems tools is a plus

· Must be self-motivated and team oriented
