Marketing Specialist - West Valley City, UT
Position Description:
The Business Development Representative will support both marketing and sales with the goal of generating and qualifying leads. This individual will make outbound cold calling campaigns, warm-lead follow-up and qualification calls, and respond to and qualify inbound inquiries received via the phone, web, email, events, and direct mail. Cold calling will be conducted to recruit prospects to join webinars, regional seminars, and other marketing sponsored events. This person is responsible for prompt response to prospects and clients to build successful pipeline for sales while maintaining accurate tracking for the marketing department.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Engage prospects and clients by asking probing questions to gather information and uncover underlying issues to provide qualified leads to sales
  • Update and complete database records
  • Develop operational knowledge and understanding of the product and services provided by OptumHealth and be able to concisely explain these products/services to clients and prospects
  • Understand the health care industry and communicate how OptumHealth products and services solve health care industry challenges
  • Become an expert in the use of OptumHealth sales automation tools including Salesforce.com and Seibel
  • Proficiently manage leads in the marketing automation tool Aprimo
  • Make recommendations to management and team members that will improve performance
  • Document all contact efforts and prospect reactions
  • Participate in extensive training on OptumHealth products and procedures Lead Generation and Support
  • Qualify direct marketing and corporate event leads
  • Conduct outbound calls for event registrations
  • Provide inbound support for all requests from 800 lines and websites
  • Build rapport with sales teams and ensure immediate and regular communication, including any assigned follow up tasks

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree is required
  • 1-3 years experience working in a marketing or sales support role is required
  • Aptitude to think on your feet and respond quickly to comments is critical
  • Outstanding open ended probing capability
  • Strong time management, organizational skills, ability to multi-task and attention to detail
  • Self starter and self motivator
  • Experience in cold-calling
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage workload with minimal supervision
  • Flexible and driven working with teams in a fast paced environment
  • Healthcare experience a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint applications is required
  • Experience with marketing automation tools and/or Sales Force Automation tools preferred
