This position will be part of the newly formed Innovative Health Solutions team at OptumHealth. Individuals will need to be effective working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and changing environment. The focus of the team is to create, implement, test, prove, and commercialize a health management solution that drives value for customers at orders of magnitude higher than achieved before in health management. Specific roles and responsibilities include:
- Conduct thorough problem and root cause analyses on high spend, impactable cost drivers via claims analysis, focus group research, competitive intelligence, and other primary / secondary research means
- Conceptualize, design, implement, and test solutions that impact medical cost spend, targeting providers, consumers, benefit administrators, and/or payers.
- Thoroughly define the value proposition and prove impact on medical cost trend through deploying cost reducing solutions in a test environment with live customers
- Refine solutions over time to improve performance and deliver value
- Commercialize the solution from the test environment to the larger business
- Direct product, market and customer research to qualify program development ideas and quantify business opportunity.
- Create and manage project plans and development budgets for multiple initiatives.
- Organize and lead multi-departmental work teams to design and implement new programs and services.
- Work with finance to design cost and pricing models that maximize sales and marketing potential of the program.
- Conduct industry and customer surveys and/or focus groups to evaluate program design, positioning and price.
- Work with Leadership, to create marketing and sales materials, as well as launch strategy and marketing communications plan.
- Train sales and account management staff in the specifics of the new program, and keep them informed of new developments and enhancements.
- May eventually provide leadership to and be accountable for the performance of managers and/or senior level professional staff.
- May manage relationships with strategic partners, including provider community and benefit decision makers

Qualifications
- A Bachelors degree is required. Masters is a plus.
- 10+ years of general management, product management, and / or product development experience. Healthcare experience a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years experience managing large projects and/or leading multi-departmental workgroups.
- Proven track record delivering strong results developing new products/services and / or re-engineering less optimal product offerings (as a team leader and individual contributor)
- Proven success managing complex service offerings, qualifying product opportunities, targeting markets, sales support and designing viable programs, particularly in healthcare industry.
- Strong multifunctional business experience and acumen.
- Excellent team leadership and project management skills.
- Exemplary communication and organization skills.
- High energy, detail oriented and creative individual.
