Requirements:
- B.A./B.S. in Marketing strongly preferred
- Event marketing experience required
- 5+ years direct marketing experience to include: direct mail, fax, e-mail, telemarketing and web-based campaigns
- Marketing experience in relation to magazine circulation experience a plus
- Market research background, trade show experience a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Database experience required
- Travel required
- Marketing budget expertise
- Superb organizational and time management skills - a self starter who meets deadlines and adheres to schedules
- Customer service oriented with great interpersonal skills
- Track record of problem solving with a "systems" and efficiency approach
- Individual will be reliable and conscientious
- Must be highly proficient in Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook

General Description of the position:
Marketing Plan Development: Work with show managers and director to develop marketing plans and budgets including direct mail, broadcast faxing, email, advertising, collateral, web-sites and public relations; work with publishers on development as required Research industries and lists; prepare list selects; procure lists for campaigns; supervise integration with production department for mailing Develop and utilize coding system and list database to track marketing efforts and performance Develop, promote and manage special promotional projects.
Execute Plans and Strategy: Coordinate development of brochures, web and print advertisements, registration forms, show guides, and other attendee promotional pieces, including copywriting and working with graphic design team, show team, partners and vendors; Implement marketing plans through extensive internal resources and vendor contact (telemarketing, mailhouse, fulfillment house, broadcast fax/email companies, list brokers, consultants, etc.); Write/proof/route press releases as applicable; Work with internal Web group to develop show web-sites to be functional 365 days a year, including copywriting support, developing site map, and overseeing all department-specific pages (operations, conference management, sales, etc.); Track all promotional efforts, including developing and maintaining weekly projection and cost-tracking sheets for each event; Develop, execute and track exhibitor marketing campaigns.
Analyze Results: Reconcile all marketing spending post-show with finance department; Clean and analyze demographic data provided by registration vendor; Conduct post-show ROI analysis of marketing plan; Interpret analysis and perform industry research to improve future marketing efforts.
