Overview:

Responsibilities:

The Memory Care Director will manage the overall operation of the Memory Care Neighborhood in accordance with resident needs, government regulations and Emeritus policies and procedures. Duties include: conducting resident screenings and family interviews; development and implementation of residents' FlexCare Plans; planning, conducting and implementing staff training and coordinating educational opportunities; coordinating the annual review of the Alzheimer's Program policy and procedures; coordinating in-service training; assisting in marketing and sales efforts; organizing and leading Resident Aide meetings; and providing written reports.

This is a full-time position with some weekends. Must be available by phone or pager 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Some travel required.


Qualifications:
  • Qualified candidates will preferably possess a BA/BS degree in medical, psychological, social or gerontological or 2-3 years experience in a healthcare setting
  • A basic knowledge of Alzheimer's Disease and related dementia is required.
  • Creativity and quality teamwork skills are a must.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and the general public.
  • Must meet all health requirements, including TB, and pass background checks.
  • Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
