POSITION SUMMARY

Ensures high level quality service of branch staff, responsible for the efficient operation of assigned branch(es) operations. Understands business objectives and contributes to the franchise growth by leading the branch team(s) in producing referrals. Responsible for developing and maintaining profitable business relationships by providing superior sales and service to the Bank's business client base. The Branch Manager is responsible for expanding the Bank's client base, growing the loan and deposit portfolio. Ensures the growth of the consumer and small business financial services franchise (i.e. banking, insurance, investments) by leading the Personal Bankers in producing consistent financial relationship growth as evidenced by growth in core product usage, household growth, size of the household relationship with Rainier Pacific and the quality of service provided. Compiles and analyzes competitive sales information and recommends actions pertaining to new product development and product improvement. Formulates sales objectives for assigned sales staff, develops and motivates assigned sales staff. Demonstrates leadership consistent with Rainier Pacific's guiding principles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Solicits new businesses from prospective customers within the framework of a business development program and the Bank's desired markets to grow the Bank's loan and deposit portfolio and revenue.
  • Meets with clients and prospects to discuss needs, outline appropriate Rainier Pacific products and services, and resolve problems to produce an integrated financial solution, enhance the relationship and maintain a long-term relationship perspective.
  • Responsible for achieving branch service quality objectives and supports the operating unit's referrals and profitability objectives.
  • Provides leadership for and supervision of branch service and assigned staff.
  • Coordinates all branch functions including security, facilities, service group staffing and training, electronic services, and internal controls.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and appraisal of staff performance in conjunction with the Retail Service Manager.
  • Creates appropriate development plans with each direct report to ensure the achievement of all established goals and to deepen understanding of Rainier Pacific's values and culture.
  • Develops, with input of the sales staff, the annual sales goals.
  • Provide coaching and support to the Personal Bankers; communication of expected sales results, recognition, performance coaching, and time management.
  • Ensures a high quality of service is provided by Personal Bankers to the customers, enabling Rainier Pacific to differentiate ourselves in the marketplace on this service.
  • Ensures that the entire sales team is demonstrating financial knowledge consistent with a full service financial professional.
  • Provides advice on banking and financial matters to customers on a request basis, and may serve customers directly to accomplish business objectives.
  • Responsible for the administration of the compensation plan for the Personal Bankers.
  • Conducts positive, productive meetings focused on building skills, energy and enthusiasm in the branch team to facilitate achievement of the Bank's goals and objectives.
  • Assists with the development and monitoring of the branch operational budget(s) and the financial management of assigned area(s) to create maximum value for the organization.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory compliance and operational policies and procedures in a manner consistent with our brand.
  • Ensures an adequate internal control environment (i.e., policies, procedures, safety, security, etc.) exists in the assigned branch(s) and is functioning appropriately.
  • Supports small business product lines through providing services and conducting service calls to business clients.
  • Serves on various committees to ensure Rainier Pacific meets the business needs of the organization.
  • Responsible for cash management of the assigned branch(es).
  • Stays abreast of environmental, technical and regulatory developments that affect the Rainier Pacific's operations including a working knowledge of customer regulatory compliance and operational policies and procedures.
  • Exercises an appropriate level of courtesy, tact, and professional communications in dealing with others.
  • Supports and encourages the future-focused, results-driven, values-based sales and service culture throughout the organization.
  • Completes business plan goals as assigned and reports results to appropriate parties, verbally or in writing.
  • Participates in the development of Rainier Pacific's vision, mission, values, and strategic direction, and has a responsibility to convey, model, and carry out such.
  • Develops and maintains ethical and professional relationships with key vendors in an effort to obtain additional value for the organization.
  • Contributes to a favorable public image of the organization by establishing and maintaining relationships and participation in the community (civic, industry and professional).
  • Contributes toward effective team problem solving with staff, peers, and Management. Consistently demonstrates corporate values; encourages and coaches others to consistently demonstrate corporate values. Assists team members to achieve their goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for supervising Branch Service Associates, Personal Bankers and other assigned staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Bank's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and counseling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) in Business and two to four years of business banking sales, credit and relationship management experience or appropriate combination of education and experience.
  • Strong leadership and management skills required. Demonstrated experience in the financial industry preferred.
  • Position requires personal computer skills using word processing and spreadsheet programs (i.e. Word for Windows and Excel).
  • Position requires strong written and verbal communication skills.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to members/customers and other employees of Rainier Pacific

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Possesses the ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical business conditions.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Licenses or Certificates

  • Must be bondable.
  • Current driver's license.
