Academic Dean

The Academic Dean is directly responsible and accountable for ensuring the fulfillment of educational goals and objectives; maintaining compliance with state, accreditation, and Kaplan Higher Education (KHEC) policies; meeting student retention goals; directing educational planning, departmental organization, and staffing; training of faculty and academic staff; evaluating educational programs, student achievement, and faculty and staff performance; coordinating intradepartmental activities; motivating and advising students, faculty, and staff; developing and maintaining the master schedule and department budget; and generating reports as needed.

The successful candidate will have an earned Doctorate from a regionally accredited college or university and will submit official transcripts of all degree work to the Office of Academic Affairs. At least five (5) years of successful and documented higher education teaching experience, and a minimum three (3) year of successful and documented management and/or supervisory experience within academic affairs required.

Requires excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, and a high capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Experience in student retention, scheduling, instructional observation, evaluation, and training highly desirable.
