UnitedHealth Pharmaceutical Solutions (UHPS) is a full-service pharmacy benefit manager. We provide innovative pharmacy solutions that aim to make prescription medications more affordable and promote best practices in prescription medication therapy. Providing pharmacy management services to more than 15 million members and managing more than $10 billion in pharmaceutical spend annually, we are a key link to a successful health care benefit plan.
The Finance Manager - Product Analytics is a member of the UnitedHealth Pharmaceutical Solutions Finance and Analytics Team and reports to the Finance Director of Pricing. The position is office-based in the UnitedHealthcare facility in Edina, MN.
This position is responsible for supporting the product development organization on pharmacy initiatives, internal pharmacy product efforts and pricing capabilities, and developing pharmacy expertise in fully insured pricing in order to advance pharmacy value proposition and initiatives.
- Develop internal methodology to integrate a consistent pricing approach into product development processes for pharmacy benefit and management products.
- Create analytics to quantify financial performance, opportunities, and risks associated with pharmacy management products to ensure accurate pricing.
- Develop expertise in fully insured pricing as it applies to the pharmacy benefit component and identify gaps in pricing assumptions in order to influence changes to pricing methodologies and advance the pharmacy value proposition in fully insured pricing.
- Create models to support product pricing analytics and drive fact based decisions.
- Work vertically and cross functionally to support product development initiatives with pharmacy expertise, due diligence and solution-oriented analytics.
- Develop and maintain relationship with key underwriting, actuarial, sales, marketing and product development contacts to effectively communicate analytical findings, pricing strategies and recommended solutions.
- Work with internal pharmacy product owners to understand ongoing performance of and key initiatives within various product areas.
- Build repeatable and reliable pricing capabilities that allow for the pricing and billing of pharmacy management products bundled/unbundled directly to customers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree.
- Progressive experience in pharmacy pricing and/or product development in the PBM or health plan space.
- Strong Excel and database experience.
- Expert understanding of statistics and actuarial concepts.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, manage multiple priorities and achieve desired outcomes.
- Demonstrated high impact communication style.
- Proven ability to drive disciplined fact-based decisions and innovation.
- Immediate availability to commute daily to the Edina, MN office.
