| Under general direction, provides leadership for the development of a long-term corporate financial strategy for Mercy Medical Center-Sioux City and its affiliates. In doing so, directs the Budgeting and Capital Planning functions with a particular focus on improving the systems short and long-term financial condition. Maintains an external focus by conducting studies of key competitors' operations and health care industry's trends and issues. Is responsible for ensuring the integrity and utilization of the Decision Support System and works closely with Planning and the Senior Leadership Team in projecting and monitoring financial performance. Provides a framework for enabling maximum human development while channeling human energies to the accomplishment of Mercy Medical Center's philosophy, mission and goals. Is instrumental in promoting quality of life for patients, personnel and the community served. Qualifications: 1. MBA or Masters in related field and/or CPA required. 2. Five years or more of experience in health care finance and budgeting with progressive responsibilities, including at least two years in a supervisory capacity or relevant experience. 3. Must possess a working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and an understanding of third party reimbursement, financial planning analysis and modeling tools. 4. Must possess a high level of analytical and conceptual ability, strong creativity, and the ability to develop and to interpret financial statements and reports. 5. Must possess strong written and verbal communications skills in order to communicate in clear and concise terms to management and governance at all levels. 6. An understanding of system computer applications and personal computer systems and software. HJ |
