Analog/Mixed Signal Design Engineer Our company is currently seeking our next Analog/Mixed Signal Design Engineer who is proficient with the detailed design of both mixed-signal and analog circuits. These may include test, evaluation, design capture, layout, & debugging of prototype ICs & design support that is used for mass production.
Responsibilities: • Create, design, & validate circuits, systems, logic, algorithms, etc. to satisfy requirements of the products. • Establish design parameters & approaches. • Create state of the art designs for protecting or patenting as trade secret. • Have responsibility of custom layout, including overseeing work performed by layout designers. • Perform evaluations of the results of designs by laboratory measurements of ICs. • Report on design results by using design reviews, that meet company quality requirements & solves action items that are created as a result of these reviews. • Attend design reviews to give both guidance & input to other designers. • Research different design techniques through technical seminars & publications • Support marketing in defining the product, the development of efficient test programs, product engineering that complies with production & manufacturing needs, and the applications engineering that meets the needs of the customer. • Works under general supervision of project lead and/or senior project team members.
Requirements: Technology-related bachelor's degree or equivalent training, with at least two years of related experience. Advanced degrees can reduce the minimum experience required. • Thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of engineering • Advanced knowledge of complex AC/DC analysis (compensation, poles, zeros) • Basic knowledge of the following: signal analysis (convolution, small-signal/linear, & Fourier Transform), parasitic analysis (resistance, capacitance, & power grid), MOS device modeling, the CMOS fabrication processes, MOS transistors & analog/digital circuit design, digital design, and design flows • Basic skills in design/implementation of following areas: -Building blocks (i.e. ADC, bus interfaces, OPAMP, gm-C filters, state-machines, switch capacitors, & DAC) -Ring oscillators, phase detectors, LC-VCOs, DSP’s, PLLs, microcontrollers, & memories. -Verification (i.e., logic/circuit simulation, static timing & Matlab analysis) -Design implementation (i.e., custom layout, synthesis, auto place & route flow) -Design for testability (i.e. observability & controllability through test modes, ATPG, and scan test)
