The D. E. Shaw group, a highly successful investment and technology development firm, seeks a junior attorney to work closely with the firm's compliance professionals to research and advise the firm's business managers on securities laws and regulatory requirements. Knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Securities Act of 1933, and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 is a strong plus.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience at an asset management firm, investment adviser, hedge fund manager, or law firm. Exceptionally strong analytical abilities, excellent communication and drafting skills, an obsessive regard for detail, and the ability to identify and analyze issues in a fast-paced and rapidly changing business environment are required.
