POSITION REQUIREMENTS
JOB SUMMARY

Serves as the primary champion for the Transformational Care activities and defines the direction for Transformational care efforts at Chandler Regional Medical Center and its affiliates. Leads the formulation of the Transformational care by directing, analysis, planning and implementing rapid cycle implementation activities along with appropriate follow-up actions. Identifies inefficiencies and reduces waist to add value from the perspective of the patient while subsequently improving earnings. Develops and coordinates training activities and efforts to change the internal culture of the organization with respect to the Transitional Care objectives. Assists leadership in communicating the need to change and identifying ways to drive the culture. Manages the internal assessment process to determine progress along the Ministry Transformation journey. Coordinates and manages relationships with designated consultants. Stewards the Lean progress and deliverables as liaison between operations and senior management. Accountable to the Executive Leadership Team in managing the development of action plans and teams that are aimed at achieving the transformational care objectives of CRMC.

Experience:

Minimum: Five years of hospital clinical operations experience.

Preferred: Ten years of progressive healthcare management experience with a minimum of five years of management or senior analyst experience in the acute setting. Demonstrated experience with clinical process knowledge in a multi service line environment coupled with experience and knowledge of payor reimbursement models is strongly encouraged.


Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Health Administration required. MBA preferred.

Training: Prior training in Lean implementation preferred.

Special Skills: Superior management skills with an emphasis on interpersonal communication.
Ability to lead in a team-oriented environment. Working knowledge of the "Lean toolbox" with a willingness to learn. Excellent organizational skills required, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Able to operate within all levels of the organization. Ability to prioritize, plan and execute. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficient at Microsoft office suite: Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Passion for energizing the organization. Demonstrates initiative and must posses excellent problem solving abilities and facilitation skills.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to the Hospital Service Area Leader or designee.

Interpersonal Relationships

Must have excellent interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships within and outside the organization. Has daily contact with a variety of audiences including management/senior management and other CHW Divisions and corporate staff. Has periodic contact with representatives of outside agencies including legal counsel, regulatory agencies, consulting services, other hospitals, etc.

Mental and Physical Effort

1. Physical: Must be able to sit at a desk or stand for long periods and use a computer. Must
be able to hear and talk over the telephone and in person with others. Must be
be able to make presentations to groups, and be able to travel to other work
sites.

2. Mental: Must be flexible in a very demanding environment and able to prioritize and use good judgment. Must be able to access issues to identify the cause
and plan ways to resolve issues. Must be able to coordinate a variety of
issues while being frequently interrupted.
