Sr. Solutions Architect

GENERAL SUMMARY
As a storage technology expert for our post-sale product Delivery organization, this opportunity focuses on architecting EMC’s storage solutions based on detailed interactions with the customer and in partnership with our sales and pre-sales teams. Specifically, our SA’s prepare technical architectural and implementation design documents and works closely with the Project Manager to develop the Implementation plan.
Additionally, this role leads the product implementation engagement by participating in the installation, customization, and integration of an EMC solution.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Develops and articulates product solutions based on a customer's strategic business or technical requirements ascertained from working with multiple business units across the customer's organization.
§ Works closely with Project and Program Managers to define project deliverables and schedules. Helps to identify and leverage EMC and Partner Resources in order to satisfy the technical needs and objectives of the implementation.
§ Proactively alerts Project Manager and sales team of potential problems based upon strong working knowledge of software/hardware compatibility within the customer's environment.
§ Prepares, maintains and submits activity/progress reports and time recording/management reports in accordance with published procedures.
§ Stays current on technical specifications for hardware/software requirements of EMC and industry products through professional associations, trade journals, networking, and associated training and seminars.


SKILLS / REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
EMC seeks individuals with a high motivation to provide excellent customer service and who continually strive to advance their technical skills. Additionally, we seek:

• In-depth technical skills with EMC storage products like ECC, DMX, Clariion, sancopy, SRDF, powerpath, timefinder, along with migration methodologies;


• Strong background with switching technologies and products from vendors such as Cisco, Brocade and McData;


• Robust host-based skills coupled with operating systems Unix, HPUX, AIX, Windows.


• Organizational skills, Analytical ability, Project management skills;
