This supports the Lead Programmer for programming and software implementation projects for the North County Times & Californian web sites and related news and advertising sites

The ideal candidate will possesses a strong knowledge of HTML, along with familiarity with PHP JavaScript, MySQL and XML. Some knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, or Macromedia's Dreamweaver and Fireworks suite is helpful. Working knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, DNS and other major Internet protocols preferred. Some familiarity with database with SEO strategies helpful.

Candidates must be able to work closely with advertising, news and production departments, and have the ability to maximize effectiveness of diverse, proprietary and open systems.

Must be self-motivated, flexible, and organized to juggle multiple projects and customer requests in a fast-paced environment. Integrity, solid written and oral communication skills, assertive project management skills, strong troubleshooting skills and a sense of humor are a must. A degree in a related field or equivalent is preferred.
