| | Avionics Technician | Minimum Requirements : High School graduate or equivalent; must have completed military or vocational technical school curriculum. AA degree preferred. Successful candidates must pass a basic electronics/RF screening test prior to being considered for employment. Employment category will be based on experience and qualifications.
Upon hiring, the company will provide a 5-week TDY class on UAV Predator maintenance conducted at Indian Springs/Creech AFB, NV or similar location. Students must achieve a passing grade in all courses for continued employment. Additional "on the job" training may be required following end of course. Upon successful completion of all required training, the employee will report to Indian Springs, NV/Creech AFB for duty.
Minimum of five years professional experience required (eight years desired), with experience in aircraft avionics installation, inspection, maintenance and repair preferred. Must have knowledge of basic electronics. Prior experience with UAVs preferred. Must have recent aviation maintenance experience to be considered.
Must apply for an Interim Secret Clearance within 30 days of hire start date. Must be able to gain/maintain a TOP SECRET (or higher) security clearance of as a condition of continued employment. FCC radio telephone license preferred. Must pass a company-administered Electronics Qualification Exam. Must be able to provide proof of US Citizenship. Supports Predator UAV maintenance. Geographic location of assignment is at Indian Springs, NV/Creech AFB (includes TDY deployments to CONUS and OCONUS locations). Inspects, performs organizational, intermediate, and depot level electronic maintenance and modifications on Predator UAV and support equipment. Applies comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Uses common test instruments such as digital multi-meters, sign generators, semiconductor testers, oscilloscopes and similar equipment.
Maintains, repairs, and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment, micro and mainframe computers, and industrial measuring, controlling and calibration devices. Applies technical knowledge of electronic principles in determining malfunctions and applies skill in restoring equipment systems and operations. EOE M/F/D/V  |
