The key responsibilities for this position are as follows: Effectively manage a caseload of property claims within the industry standards of claim workloads, as an inside claims examiner. In the event of a major Catastrophe, it is expected that workloads will increase, and the examiner will put in the requisite additional time to handle the increases workload. We have high customer service standards and goals that we expect the examiner to meet on all claims. Evaluate coverage and amount of loss, and provide guidance to outside claims adjusting team. Proactively resolve claims to a mutuallysatisfactory conclusion. This position involves occasional travel to meet with insured's/brokers to discuss claim handling procedures and/or claims settlement meetings. Skills and Requirements: Proficient computer skills are required utilizing a paperless claims system. Ability to communicate effectively with several parties including: brokers, insured's, adjuster's, experts, senior management, etc. Proficient knowledge and ability to interpret propert coverage, including experience with manuscript policies. Strong technical knowledge of all lines of coverage including but not limited to: property damage, contents, inventory, Extra Expense, Business Interruption, B&M and builders risk claims. Ability to manage claims utilizing independent adjusters, engineering firms, accountants, etc. Extensive Property claims litigation experience is a plus. A minimum of seven to ten years of property claims experience is required.
