THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION THAT WILL START DECEMBER 1ST.

POSITION SUMMARY
Manages Medical Information operations related to medical inquiries from internal and external customers. Provides input regarding functions which enhance product understanding and support corporate objectives by developing and subsequently providing customers (health care professionals, administrators, government agencies, managed care organizations, medical science liaisons, sales force, marketing personnel, international colleagues and others) with clinical and other appropriate technical information regarding Actelion Pharmaceuticals US’ marketed and investigational compounds. May direct the activities of vendors and support colleagues.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Function as primary Medical Information case manager.

• Direct and participate in maintenance of the various medical information databases for all Actelion products (marketed and investigational).

• Recognize, obtain pertinent data, and accurately transmit any reported adverse events in a timely manner to the Drug Safety department.

• Develop solutions to clinical and technical issues regarding Actelion products following direct interactions with internal and external customers.

•Assist in the creation and development of internal and external technical, marketing and educational materials.

• Participate in Actelion’s after-hours Program by responding to urgent inquiries.

•Provide necessary training to the field colleagues regarding clinical, and technical aspects of Actelion products through various methods of communication.

•Attend medical/scientific conferences.

•Promote business goals through communication of clinical and/or scientific information to internal and external customers.

•Provide input and participate in local and international activities relating to medical information management.

•May assist other medical information colleagues at other Actelion affiliates, worldwide.

•Function in other capacities outside Medical Information, i.e., protocol writing and reviewing, scientific paper reviews, regulatory and promotional reviews, manuscript development.

•Ensure Departmental Adherence to all corporate and regulatory standards.

REQUIREMENTS
• Experience in pharmaceutical industry, focused in clinical research, medical information or related field.

• Advanced degree in biomedical discipline, preferably MS, RN, R.Ph., Pharm. D.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills

• Advanced computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, databases)

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Team player, independent thinker, self motivated

• Light to moderate national and international travel
