Title: Actuarial Science Intern




Summary: In this position, you will assist actuarial departments with various client-service related needs which may include data collection, preparation of annual pension or post-retirement benefit valuations, pension benefit calculations, regulatory compliance/government filings, preparation of health and welfare benchmark studies, preparation of monthly medical claims reports, and financial analysis of utilization reports.




Training: BUCK offers a strong actuarial intern program. Interns will have the opportunity to work on real-life client engagements. An on-site mentor would provide training. In addition, interns may have the opportunity to participate in a 3-day training session in New York/New Jersey Metro area.



Training session topics/workshops may include:

Case Studies


Business writing


Plan documents


Medical plan design


Benefits, pay and total rewards


Team projects


Benefit calculation exercises


Team building exercises


MS Excel training





Qualifications: Pursuing a degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, or business administration. Completion of one or more actuarial exams. You must be detail oriented with good interpersonal and communication skills. Strong PC skills are required.
