MANAGER, STORAGE & NETWORK OPERATIONS

Job Description:
This person will be responsible for managing, planning, delivering and operating our Storage and Network teams. This person will coordinate the projects, people and all activities and communications about incidents, problems and inquiries related to production storage and network systems.

Key Responsibilities / Performance Requirements:
  • Team & Project Management: The ability to perform the day to day management of technical professionals. The ability to manage large and small projects related to the storage and network teams.
  • Storage Management: The ability to understand the details of a large enterprise storage environment. Be able to work with vendors and technical professionals to deliver storage products to the business that meets or exceeds the requirements.
  • Network Management: The ability to understand the details of a large international enterprise network. Be able to work with vendors and technical professionals to deliver network products to the business that meets or exceeds the requirements.
  • Availability Management: Availability management is the process of ensuring that any given IT service consistently and cost-effectively delivers the level of availability required by the customer. It is not just concerned with minimizing loss of service, but also with ensuring that appropriate action is taken if service is lost.
  • Service Level Management: The Service Level Management (SLM) function provides a consistent and critical service-oriented foundation. The service-oriented process emphasizes performance measurement, cost measurement, and continuous quality improvement that will help align IT service delivery with business needs. The mission of the SLM function is to enable the business to make valuable, informed decisions about IT services.
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experienced in enterprise IT deployment, infrastructure System Administration.
  • Strong analytical logic and problem troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, collaboration skills and self-motivation.
  • Must have strong verbal and written skills.
  • 7+ years IT experience and demonstrate aptitude for providing superior customer service in politically charged environment.
  • 4+ years of IT management experience.
  • High degree development skills.
  • Ability to manage projects, and work across teams and independently.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2003, XP, MS Office, Outlook and Linux.
  • Strong understanding of storage technology, networks and servers.
  • Programming skills that include scripting languages: VBscript, PowerShell
