Position Responsibilities:
- Maintain effective communication with project team members and with the customer
- Work with customer's process engineers to write automation and control functional requirements
- Be the technical lead, coordinate and work with other project technical disciplines, project management and customer representatives to lead multiple projects
- Proactively develop customer relationships; anticipate and provide solutions to customer needs giving high priority to customer satisfaction; facilitate the development of others' technical knowledge and skills, providing timely feedback and guidance to help them reach goals
- Develop control system definition, architecture, and topologies
- Participate in P&ID reviews with client process engineers and operators
- Work with product technologies provided by several DCS/PLC suppliers
- Apply various bus technologies to process control solutions
- Lead/participate on a team to plan and execute Customer Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing, commissioning, and start-up or hot-cutover at customer plant sites
- Supervise/coordinate field walk-downs of control systems and instrumentation
Qualifications:
- Legal authorization to work in the USA on a full time basis for other than current employer
- BSEE or BSChE or equivalent
- 8-12 years of Instrument/Electrical/Control System work associated with automation projects in a refinery or chemical plant
- Excellent technical knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems in plants, both current and legacy control systems
- General understanding of the development and installation of plant information networks
- Knowledge of the design part of project execution including location plans, installation details, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams and panel and console design
- Field walk-down experience in Refinery and Chemical plants
- Field experience with electrical circuits, MCCs, power supplies, grounding, UPS, and other components that pertain to instrumentation and control systems
- Ability to read/understand electrical motor schematics, one-line drawings, P&IDs
- Ability to work with end users
- Experience in delivering FEED studies
- Experience implementing both grass-root control system and brown-field re-instrumentation projects
- Experience executing both Fixed Price and Reimbursable projects
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to build and sustain customer relationships
- Ability to organize work, with good attention to detail
- Must convey a professional image with customers
Must be comfortable in plant sites, and possess the ability to negotiate staircases, ladders, scaffolding, and catwalks
