Sr. IT Analyst - Cisco/Network Engineer: Orange County Sanitation District

The Orange County Sanitation District (OCSD) is a public agency located in Southern California dedicated to maintaining world-class leadership in wastewater and water resource management. OCSD operates and maintains the third largest wastewater treatment facilities west of the Mississippi River.

Under direction, provides highly advanced professional support in the analysis, design, configuration and maintenance of complex voice/VOIP and data systems; troubleshoots, analyzes and resolves highly complex systems and network hardware problems; serves as a project manager on assigned projects; and provides highly technical support and training to end users. This person will be responsible for maintaining the District’s Cisco backbone equipment and will monitor and respond to network events. The Senior IT Analyst will be involved in the design of Virtual Local Area Networks for the Process Network, and will design and implement the Process Logic Control Ethernet Highway. Other duties will include expanding the backbone architecture as required, developing and maintaining backbone network security, and developing and maintaining a Cisco Virtual Private Network.

This position requires the equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, information systems, or a related field, and four years of increasingly responsible information systems or network troubleshooting and analysis experience including two years of experience at a level comparable to an Information Technology Analyst III with the District. An equivalent combination of applicable work experience and education may be substituted. Five years enterprise networking experience in designing and maintaining Cisco networks and advanced understanding of TCP/IP, Cisco routing protocols, and the OSI model are strongly preferred.

SALARY RANGE: $87,152/yr. - $105,934/yr. (Control Point = $96,075/yr.)
