The Company

Our client is a leading supplier of special machine tool with customers in the metalworking industry. They are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to be come part of the engineering team in Rockford , IL .

The Opportunity

The Software Engineer will become a part of a development team that develops software dedicated to the design and manufacturing of composite structures for a variety of applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for “manufacturing process integration” for composite parts
  • Improve manufacturing process integration
  • Analysis, design, programming, debugging, and modification of the software
  • Deliver short-, mid- and long-term cost estimations for projects
  • Develop and track schedules and budgets
  • Customer support for process integration
  • Analyze and investigate applications engineering tasks and prepare design specifications, analysis, and recommendations.
  • Ensure products and services provided by the company meet the highest standards.
  • Become very knowledgeable of the entire Hardware & Software infrastructure for automated machine tools and robotics equipment.
  • Working closely with other departments to meet the division's goals
  • Meet deadlines and company goals
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement philosophy.

Requirements

  • BA / BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Alternatively: BS degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • Sufficient experience in a software development environment.
  • Programming skills (C++ , java, perl, CAA preferred).
  • Structural analysis and design experience, knowledge of composite material.
  • Experience in using CAD system.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows based development.
