Digital Design Engineer with digital signal processing experience for mixed-signal applications



Job Summary

This role is a new position and will initially be a contract/temp with the possibility of converting to regular full-time. We are looking to supplement our team’s analog and mixed-signal design expertise with a digital design engineer who has specific digital signal-processing expertise for mixed-signal applications. The location for this job is San Jose, CA. Primary activities will include the design of mixed-signal ASIC’s integrated in sub-micron process. The candidate must be flexible, open to participate in tasks other than strict ASIC design, and willing to acquire new skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all areas of digital design for Mixed-Signal ASIC development including chip architecture, RTL, implementation, RTL synthesis, validation, and ASIC bring-up and characterization.

  • Create system level specification, performance analysis, micro-architecture specification as well as RTL ASIC implementation and test validation.

  • Will work closely with digital design team in North Carolina and may be required to work on RTP projects.

Requirements:

  • B.S in Electrical Engineering (M.S/Ph.D preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a digital design engineer in mixed-signal applications environments
  • Prior experience with Verilog / VHDL RTL design, simulation, and verification of Mixed-Signal ASICs
  • Knowledge of communications protocols (I2C / SPI) - strongly desired.
  • Knowledge of all phases of ASIC design methodology including Verilog / VHDL Coding, Synthesis, DFT, Chip Constraints, Timing Closure, Verification.
  • Silicon lab bring-up experience
  • Digital/Analog Mixed signal SOC design
  • Experience with Digital Signal Processing, ADC, DAC, Op Amp, Temperature Sensor, Voltage reference, PLL, and Filters (a plus)
  • Able to work independently in a small, but proficient and dynamic design team.
