San Diego, CA Job Description : The Lab Supervisor I will be responsible for assigning, overseeing, and reviewing the work of employees in the Microbiology department. This entails directing all phases of work, quality, service, and costs. As a Medical Technologist, the Supervisor will also be responsible for performing routine and moderate to complex tests and analyses according to established procedures, evaluating new procedures and/or methods. Job Requirements : This position requires a BS degree in the life sciences, a current, unrestricted California Medical Technologist / Clinical Laboratory Scientst (CLS) license, 5+ years of experience as a Medical Technologist with experience in microbiology, virology, and parasitology, and 1-3 years of experience in a supervisory or lead capacity. Organizational, research, training and time management skills, as well as the abilities to train and orient staff, to communicate professionally in writing and verbally to employees, management and clients, and analyze problems and determine the most appropriate resolutions, also required. |
