Summary:

Robertson Properties Group (RPG) is looking for an experienced Senior Property Accountant. The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for partnering with business operators to support the effective management of the Robertson Properties Group property management assets. Success in this role will require that monthly accounting processes continue to be refined, supporting timely, accurate financial and tenant reporting, and that an acute understanding of business and financial issues for specific assets be developed in a systematic, non-person dependent way. The Senior Property Accountant will also be expected to partner effectively with property managers and other accounting and finance functions, such as Accounts Payable, Theater Accounting, Corporate Accounting and Treasury to develop consistent, strong internal controls and more efficient operational and accounting processes.

Necessary Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in business/accounting highly preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years retail commercial real estate accounting experience required
  • Solid understanding of GAAP accounting and reporting rules as they pertain to the real estate and property management industry required
  • Solid comprehension of property management and leasing aspects of the business
  • Experience in completing complex expense recovery, CPI and other rent escalations required
  • Experience in completing lease abstracts required
  • Experience in performing General Ledger close including: balance sheet reconciliation, P&L variance analysis, performing and posting journal entries, and complex bank reconciliations
  • Budgeting experience required
  • Proven track record in partnering effectively with property managers and other business operators
  • Experience in 1 or more accounting systems (Yardi, MRDI, CTI, Timberline) required, JD Edwards/PeopleSoft experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • High competency demonstrated in written and oral communication
  • Demonstrated the ability to work autonomously and apply sound business judgment
