Position Description:
The position is responsible for the coordination and processing Treatment Authorization Requests (TARS) submitted by the community and private medical providers for prior authorization of specialty services and procedures for certified patients.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Receive record and complete the first level of review in accordance with Medical Policy and approved protocols and track and complete TARS referred for professional review
- Provide program and patient information to physician offices and primary care clinics to facilitate appropriate requested medical services
- Work closely with other staff including a Medical Director, Nurse Care Managers, and Patient Services Representatives to ensure compliance with program policy, procedures, objectives and understanding
