We are seeking an uncommon professional to join our team as a Variable Pricing Specialist

· This position provides strategic direction and functional support for the variable pricing system and processes that support the daily valuation for the Ultra Series Funds and the external funds, record keeping and reporting of transactions for CUNA Mutual Insurance Society’s variable insurance and annuity product lines.

· In collaboration with the Variable Pricing Technicians, this position will project leadership in the planning and execution of process and technology projects (may provide the same level of support for Billing Services initiatives).

· This position performs topical research, reaching out to external peer groups and vendors when appropriate to understand industry best practices and standards. Performs needs assessments, feasibility analyses, and requirements gathering, and prepares basic cost/benefit analyses, providing recommendations for change to the department management.

· This position negotiates agreement and commitment by facilitating communication between product leaders, business units and IT from initial gathering of requirements through implementation. Provide insights to improve efficiencies and effectiveness of team performance.

You must bring to the table…

· Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance or progressive equivalent work experience; Five (5) years of experience in the variable products industry and/or transfer agent role is highly desired (actual experience in pricing variable annuities is preferred);

· Understanding of SEC, GAAP and NAIC statutory rules which regulate accounting, pricing, and reporting for SEC-registered mutual funds and variable insurance products;

· Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, logically, tactfully, and effectively, both verbally and in writing, which can be shown in presentations given and the ability to transfer knowledge through problem-solving experiences; Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, creating alliances and a high degree of teamwork and collaboration with diverse groups;

· Ability to challenge, influence, persuade and direct peers, customers and stakeholders to the best decision; Strong problem solving and analytical skills; ability to focus on details and accuracy, as well as the ability to see big picture perspectives and solutions; Planning and facilitation skills and ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities, taking initiative and work with minimal direction;

· Strong knowledge of and the ability to grasp technical systems such as administrative systems and software applications such as Excel and Access.
