AUTO TECHNICIAN B

You must have good basic knowledge of complete mechanical and electrical systems in order to perform basic diagnoses, repair and remove and replace mechanical and electrical systems. Must be qualified to use specialized diagnostic equipment.

As an Auto Technician “B”, you shall work to obtain and maintain the Tech Guild Journeyman level status according to job requirements. As such, you must be qualified to use specialized diagnostic equipment, have good basic knowledge of complete mechanical and electrical systems and perform state inspection and emission certifications. An Auto Technician “B” must be able to perform basic diagnoses, repair and remove and replace (“R&R”) mechanical and electrical systems of vehicles in fleet and be able to perform duties of a higher classification with the permission of a Manager to be overseen by a Technician A.

The minimum requirements to job criteria include:

· Possess one (1) ASE combined with five (5) or more years automotive service in a dealership environment or similar;

· Obtain, and maintain, two (2) additional ASEs within twelve (12) months from the next ASE testing cycle from the time the incumbent enters the position;

· Obtain and maintain a State Inspection certification within six (6) months of entering the position.
