Description:

Lead engineer for reusable M&S tools. Investigate and identify approaches for developing reusable simulation tools. Establish a library of reusable simulation tools. Determine the feasibility of creating architecture independent simulation data storage formats and lead creation of identified formats.
Participation in other modeling and simulation activities, including verification, validation, and accreditation (VV&A) of models, simulations, and data. Development of interoperable simulations, and related software engineering activities. Public presentation of results, including in peer-refereed venues.
Sponsor engagement on technical capabilities in performance of design, development, and analytical tasks. Current group task sponsors include the Modeling and Simulation Coordination Office (M&S CO), the Joint Forces Command (JFCOM), the office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV), the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Security Agency (NSA).

Qualifications:

Required:
MS or equivalent in simulation, computer science, physics, or engineering field, and 10+ years of relevant work experience in modeling and simulation.
Simulation standardization, software engineering, and federation development experience.
In depth knowledge of defense interoperability architectures, models and simulations, and data standards.
Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.

Security: Applicants selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include US citizenship.

Desired: Experience developing and integrating distributed simulation systems.
Technical experience in developing architectures and defining their standards.
Technical experience in software compos ability, database metadata, and M&S data standards. Experience in making progress on multiple tasks concurrently.
Experience representing team efforts in technical settings including conferences and workshops. Experience with the collaborative simulation community, publication peer review processes, and open standards development. Solid writing skills.
