READING/LITERACY FACULTY POSITION FALL 2010 START DATE The School of Education at Bluefield State College seeks applicants for an assistant/associate tenure-track faculty position in reading/literacy instruction. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in reading and literacy methods and theory, methods of diagnosis and instruction for remedial reading and writing, linguistically diverse learners, and the teaching of content-area reading/literacy, as well as courses that prepare teacher candidates for licensure, supervise candidates in schools and engage in scholarship and service to the College. Minimum requirements include an earned doctorate in curriculum and instruction or education- related field with emphasis in literacy instruction; ABD with completion by fall 2010 may be considered. Teaching experience in K-12 schools is required and licensure is preferred. Experience working with diverse populations is highly desired as is experience with teacher education accreditation.
