Vice President, Data Management & Depiction
This position will be responsible for the display of and access to United's Provider Network (PN) data, consisting of over 500,000 providers with over 2 million records (98 GB of data) being represented and accessed from over 14 different systems. Although not responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the data, this position will be wholly accountable for the representation of the data from all channels [printed rosters (226 in total), web portals, mailing lists, acquisition systems, etc.] and the processes through which the data is fed and maintained. In this role, you will have visibility at the highest executive levels and with our largest customers, so you must thrive in the spotlight and under high pressure situations. Will be expected to achieve and maintain efficient PN data load and maintenance processes and organization while fully meeting the needs of our customers.
Specific responsibilities will include:
  • Developing and enforcing policies, procedures and controls for:
    • Pulling mailing lists
    • Printing rosters to ensure the correct data is included
    • Displaying data on portals
    • Feeding data from one system to another
    • Loading data from the source of truth database into other systems (and back again)
  • Determining data accessibility strategies and tactics
  • Utilizing results of data mining to determine and resolve root causes of data depiction defects
  • Collaborating with technology organizations to ensure proper system controls and reporting are available
  • Working with Product, Network, and Sales organizations to meet their business objectives
  • Leading the organization to the correct long term solution for accessing and displaying accurate data

Qualifications

Candidates will possess:
  • 15 + years of experience managing data integrity, accessibility, and/or depiction / display
  • 15 + years successfully managing large scale system projects and/or migrations
  • Strategic planning and tactical execution skills
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a liaison between business and technical organizations
  • Proven ability to influence without direct accountability
  • Prior success implementing and enforcing national protocols in a large organization
  • Deep understanding of process design and reengineering, evidenced through the ability to independently and successfully apply process acumen to process improvement initiatives
  • Proven ability to structure an issue and analyze alternative solutions to root causes using data / metrics
  • Outstanding written and verbal business communication skills
  • Ability to achieve results in an ambiguous work environment
  • Prior experiences effectively working in a virtual team environment
  • Ability to persevere through resource, process, and funding barriers
  • Proven project management and strategy skills
  • Ability to influence courses of action when others are directly accountable for outcomes
  • Ability to convey complex thoughts in a clear, concise and timely fashion to executives
  • Strong Excel, Power Point and 'story telling' skills
  • Openly and actively communicates information and takes initiative to communicate extensively
  • Ability to build and leverage a network of experts to supplement one's own expertise
  • Knowledge of Provider data desirable, but not required
  • Relevant Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experiences; advance degree preferred
