Trident was founded in 1973 by fishermen who pioneered the concept of vertical integration in the North Pacific fishing industry. Trident harvests, processes and distributes literally hundreds of millions of pounds of seafood products to national restaurant chains, foodservice distributors and retail stores across the United States and internationally. All of our harvesting is done in the clear, icy waters off the coasts of Alaska , Washington , Oregon and Canada . Our operations include vessel and shore-based production facilities throughout the state of Alaska , value added manufacturing plants in the Pacific Northwest and Minnesota , and a product sales network in the U.S. and overseas.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Director of Marketing to lead, implement and manage the company’s marketing efforts for its North American frozen value added division. Primary responsibilities will include:
· Develop and implement marketing initiatives.
· Manage and allocate marketing budget against sales goals and strategic direction.
· Develop and implement annual trade advertising plan and communication strategy.
· Identify opportunity areas of growth by effectively using market research and competitive intelligence.
· Direct value added product training program.
· Direct retail and club-store branded packaging strategy.
· Develop meaningful product positioning for product lines that creates added value versus competition and effectively communicates product advantages to the target audience.
· Direct market research projects on an as needed basis
· Manage the development and introduction of new products in cooperation with R&D.
· Market and promote initiatives to the sales force and customers to ensure corporate objectives.
· Manage the development, production, and distribution of all marketing materials to support sales and marketing activities; this includes sell sheets as well as customer-specific presentations and point of sale materials.
· Direct the corporate website and internet marketing strategy.
· Manage and coordinate company participation in tradeshows.
· Manages in house creative group
· Manage value added category managers
Skills Required:
· Four year degree in marketing or related field plus 5-10 years marketing experience in both food service and consumer packaged goods. Previous sales experience a plus.
· Demonstrated experience providing in-depth market and financial analysis required.
· Must be a team player with experience working with cross functional teams required.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
· Excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Strong customer service focus.
· Excellent organization and follow-up skills.
· Must be willing and available to travel. (25%)
