Position Summary:

Establish, manage, and implement all aspects of campaign strategy, brand support, and marketing activities for the Transplant Diagnostics product lines within the Clinical Diagnostics business segment. Ultimately this person must be able to identify, manage and deliver the right message to the right customer using the right channel within targeted region(s). This will be done through executing on tactics for both new and existing products, including product awareness and promotional activities and collateral development, through sales training and selling tools creation and support, and development of product selection guides and web merchandising. This position will be responsible for all aspects of demand generation management, including lead generation, channel management and customer acquisition in order to reach revenue and campaign ROI targets. Ability to track, analyze and report on campaign strategies used will be important in this role. Understand the business drivers for the Clinical Diagnostics business unit to be able to clearly present product positioning messages and value propositions for Transplant Diagnostics products. This person will interface with groups that include but are not limited to customers, thought leaders, Director of Marketing, Marketing Communication, Customer Relationship Management (CRM,) Product Managers, & Sales to meet the overall goals for the TX segment.

Essential Functions:

Assist in the development of various marketing strategies, including, but not limited to:

1) Final Go To Market/Marketing Mix Strategy

2) Segmentation Strategy based on position, platform used, type institution or other profiling characteristics

3) Competitive Response Strategy

4) Price Getting Strategy

5) Market Dynamics

6) Consumption Dynamics (customer behavior)

7) Purchase Dynamics (customer behavior)

8) Product positioning and selection guides. Maximize business in channels per framework set up by regions.

Gather & interpret data to determine the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and channels; market strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT); Pricing and Profitability (customer/technology/market/tactic) Analytics; Win/Loss; market share; Competitor financials/performance. Using data gathered, make recommendations for campaign strategy and forecast. Gather VOC (to develop message and segment strategy); VOS to beta test campaigns and provide input to future campaigns.

Work with product management, R&D, and other marketing teams to create marketing campaigns, develop messaging and sales tools that will resonate with scientists within appropriate customer segments. Help create and communicate product value proposition/brand to specific segments/regions; Write copy for web, print, PR, etc. from product specs, product launch documents, and similar materials. Develop collateral and product selection guides for print and web. Participate in trade shows/events, sales training, and other marketing events. Enable order mode. Manage & coordinate with regional sales/price teams “Price Getting”. Create demand generation, including sampling & promotions. Execute competitive response activities. Oversee opportunity/lead mgmt. Identify & execute cross-segment opportunities. Profile customers.

Manage assigned advertising & promotion costs to ensure they are within budget. Initiate projects/items in the Global Marketing Planner, marketing calendar and other systems designed for this purpose. Provide Q&A support for sales. Work with product management for applicable IPDF gate deliverables for new products.

Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced marketing professional with a full understanding of Invitrogen’s business, competitors, and industry trends, and how they impact work processes and deliverables.

Required Skills:

Proficient and thorough understanding of market development. Ability to work on problems of routine to diverse scope. Identify problems, answer questions, gain cooperation of others and implement efficient solutions. Develop and present formal management strategies. Team player. Work with internal/external teams/customers to drive business objectives. Prefer knowledgeable of the Clinical Diagnostics industry and competitors.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline. 5 years experience in a market development role. Prefer a Masters degree and experience marketing systems and sustainable product lines. Prefer at least two years experience in the flow cytometry market.

This position will be located in Brown Deer, WI. Relocation benefits will not be offered.
