Recovery Management Specialist: Phoenix House Foundation, Inc.

Summary: The Recovery Management Specialist provides assistance to the students of the Beyonce Cosmetology Program to transition from a resident trainee to a self-sufficient licensed Cosmetologist. The candidate will implement an array of comprehensive group and individualized services for program participants and perform technical and administrative support.

The position requires someone with CREATIVITY, EXPERTISE, MOTIVATION, and PASSION to assist those in recovery graduating from the program to begin a career in Cosmetology. This individual will serve as a liaison between the trainees, employers and industry leaders in the field.

Specific Responsibilities

• Develop an individualized recovery and employment plan based on assessment data, training progress reports and pertinent student information.
• Provide World of Work and Job Readiness Instruction to ensure that trainees are receiving appropriate job skills training with a specialization in Cosmetology.
• Develop and maintain a current bank of employment opportunities for trainees that complete the program.
• Assist program graduates in the scheduling and successful completion of the NY State Board Licensing Examination for Cosmetology
• Interface with vocational and clinical staff to monitor evolving training and employment needs and progress.
• Conduct mentoring sessions, pre-employment and post-employment workshops.
• Develop linkages with established Beauty Salons to develop internship and networking opportunities.
• Assist the Technical Instructor for Cosmetology in completing assigned lesson plans and ensuring that the curriculum is followed as required by the NY State Education Dept.
• Maintain trainee files in accordance with internal, local, state and federal requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Sales or a related field preferred.

· Experienced in the field of substance abuse.

· Must have experience working with Beauty Salons and Cosmetologists.

· Must have a current job bank in the field of Cosmetology.

· Must be able to network and engage people through events and activities

· Ability to comply with internal, local, state and federal requirements and regulations.
