Complete Description Family Practitioner - PPG/Ellijay Piedmont, named one of the nation's ‘100 Best Performing Integrated Healthcare Networks', is the parent company of 4 renowned hospitals, Piedmont Heart Institute and Piedmont Medical Care Corp., which includes the Piedmont Physician's Group. PMCC employs approximately 560 staff members and over 140 physicians. Our major focus is providing direct primary patient care. Belonging to the Piedmont system ensures optimal care for our patients, as well as practice management and marketing support for our physicians. Currently seeking a Board Certified Family Practice physician to start a new practice in the Ellijay/Gilmer County area, which is located in Northern GA. Candidates must possess excellent communication and teamwork skills and should be committed to a career in primary care medicine. Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients to achieve optimal quality care in accordance with established standards, practices, policies and procedures. Must be familiar with preventative and treatment strategies for all patient situations. He or she will consult with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Recommends and orders tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition. Must be familiar with all standard concepts, practices, and procedures within primary care. Knowledgeable of and follow all applicable CDC, OSHA and HIPAA regulations and guidelines. Experience with an EMR is highly desirable. Requires degree from an accredited medical school and current GA license.
